Torcare is an established and well respected care provider. We are looking for an experienced social care professional to join a team of committed staff. You will be responsible for a small domiciliary care service and a 16 bed Residential Care Home. You will be supported by the experienced team.
Salary: circa £30,000 pa

Registered Manager of a Domiciliary Care Service and Residential Services.
We deliver care and support services within the Community and Residential Services.
Usual working hours: You will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week. Your normal hours of work will be 9-5 Monday to Friday.
Report to: Directors / General Manager
Responsible for: A team of care workers, senior care workers, Ancillary Staff.
Liaison with: Managers within the group, CQC, Commissioning Team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the day to day running of the Domiciliary Care Services. Manage the day to day running of the care home supported by an established team of carers. Planning, directing and delivery of high quality person centred care. Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
Organisation of staff rotas, reviews, team meetings, training and mentoring. Marketing promotion and sales. Dealing with all prospective home care clients including initial assessment. Dealing with all prospective residents for the home including home tours and initial assessment. Ensure appropriate paperwork in place for new domiciliary clients. Welcome new residents and complete appropriate records and paperwork.
To be accountable for the health and safety and wellbeing of staff and users of the services. Undertake training and development to ensure best practice maintained. Accountable for auditing records and procedures across the Domiciliary Services and Residential. To take ownership of quality assurance and governance through service reviews, internal audits, annual reviews and spot checks.
To complete risk assessments and support plans and to ensure the wellbeing of our clients. Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements, and to ensure the effective running of the business. Be prepared to work flexibly in line with the needs of the service. Promote the services through liaison with the local authority and CQC ensuring good working relationships are formed. This list is not exhaustive and as such responsibilities may vary from time to time.
What you will need: Experience managing a Domiciliary Care Service and experience managing Residential, Elderly care services. Experience in Dementia care.
You will have Level 5 in Health and Social Care Leadership management or equivalent or be willing to work towards it. Strong knowledge of CQC standards. Skilled in the selection and retention of staff. Professional, confident and warm personality. Reliable and punctual. Willing and able to provide an out of hours call service. Forward thinking and creative with a positive outlook.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. Torcare ltd has 3 sites in South East Cornwall providing Adult Social Care for up to 90 service users, including one Nursing home and two Residential homes. Torcare ltd employs 160 staff members.
The successful candidate will have experience in the management of all aspects of work place Health and Safety, including but not limited to;
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years working in Health and Safety
• Inductions and basic training with new staff
• Updates for current staff
• Policy writing and reviews
• Risk assessments
• Working with people
• Contractors Health and Safety
• Excellent IT skills
• Ability to manage their own diary and work towards deadlines
• Dealing with change in legislation
• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
• IOSH Associate Membership
Desirable, but non-essential;
• Experience in Adult Social Care
• Experience working with Fire Officers and other inspecting bodies such as Local Authorities and The Care Quality Commission
• Diploma level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g. NEBOSH or NCRQ)
• NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate (or equivalent)
• Technical or higher IOSH Membership
The successful candidate will be answerable to the Directors and the General Manager of the group. You will need to work closely with the Maintenance Manager, Recruitment and Training Manager, and the Registered Managers of each of our sites, to ensure that the latest Health and Safety requirements for all our staff, residents, visitors, and premises are adhered to.

You will need to have a flexible approach, good communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative.
Experience of food preparation in a “Care Environment” would be an advantage.
